Keeping an eye on figures is nothing new for part-time bookkeeper and mother of three (aged 18, 15 and 12) but after having her children Sarah Gray lost her sight of the pounds and saw her weight increase.

The 44 year old, from Bath had seen her weight fluctuate event since leaving school. Going to catering college saw her weight increase and then reduce as she went with her mother numerous weight loss groups.

Sarah’s weight yo-yoed as she was never able to stick to a diet. That was until she went on the Slimsticks diet and to date she’s lost two stones and three dress sizes. More importantly, her attitude to food and snacking has completely changed.

Sarah says: “I’ve always struggled with my weight. My mum was constantly on a diet and I’d follow her approach. I would put on weight, go on a diet to loose what I needed and then go back to my old routine. I’d get bored with diets and found them difficult to stick to. After having my children it was hard to keep to any routine or diet for that matter so I suppose I let myself go a little.

“I was asked to pilot Slimsticks and I thought I might as well give it a go. I took a couple of Slimsticks at breakfast and one a lunch and pretty quickly I found that I was eating less. I was never a big meat eater so cutting back on that was not too much of a problem but with Slimsticks I also found that I was also drinking less alcohol.

“I find I’m less hungry and as a result snack and eat less at meal times. My portion sizes have definitely reduced. Now I’m happier eating a salad or meal with fish. Weekends were difficult as I would cook more, as a family we’d eat together and always ate more but taking Slimsticks has certainly helped.”

Sarah always exercised but like her dieting it was adhoc but taking Slimsticks has encouraged her to keep up her fitness schedule. “I try to do some Yoga every day,” explains Sarah, “and as a family we tend to walk a lot more. It’s amazing how the hills we walk on used to looked so daunting but now they are a breeze.”

“I suffer from Asthma but I’ve found that since I’ve lost the weight my breathing is easier and I have less asthma attacks. As well as feeling healthier, my confidence as also increased. It’s so much nicer to shop and try on smaller sized clothes.

If I know I’ve got a big celebration dinner, a birthday or something like Christmas coming up then I start again just so that I keep in control and don’t end up eating too much.
