Week 15

I am now over half way and have one stone to lose, which I know I can achieve with Slimsticks. I am feeling very motivated to continue on my weight loss journey.  I have told lots of friends and family about Slimsticks and, seeing my success so far, a number of them are now trying it for themselves.

I now eat 1450 calories a day and before I was probably eating between 2000-2500 calories a day.  I can quite happily eat this lower amount because of Slimsticks.  In previous diets, I have got so hungry when reducing calories, that I have just found it too hard to deal with the hunger pangs, and so I have given up.

I notice the strongest effect from the Slimsticks I take with my lunch, as I am now eating soup for lunch, so together, after lunch I feel pleasantly full.  I didn’t have the same strength of feeling when I was having sandwiches for lunch, so I think the amount of liquid in soup, combined with the Slimsticks is working really well

My current weight is 12st 7 lbs, so I have lost 1 1/2 pounds this week, which I am so pleased about.

Week 14

This week has been really tough for a couple of reasons. I had a cold at the start of the week, so felt really low and very sorry for myself. It was hard to find the motivation to follow my diet so I did eat a little more than normal.

I was then in Germany for three days on a business trip. My usual routine and diet went out of the window as I had little control over when I ate and what I ate. I tried to keep my portions small and to stay away from really fatty or sugary foods, but it was really difficult as the days were very long and such foods were available to help keep up energy and maintain focus.

So I haven’t lost any weight this week, but I am really relieved that I haven’t gained anything, I feel quite proud of this as I have previously struggled on trips abroad. Being away from home and having a different schedule drives me to eat more to comfort myself.

I also haven’t had much time or motivation for exercising recently, which I think has hampered my diet. But I have found a new enthusiasm for exercise over the weekend. We’ve just got Just Dance 4, so I’ve been dancing for 45-60 mins each day, which burns up to 350 calories, which is great.

Now I have my trip out of the way and am enjoying exercising again, I feel confident I can achieve a good result this week.

Week 13

I put on a pound this week, which I knew would happen.  Over the last week I have been having bad headaches (I am on medication for chronic tension headaches), the pain relieving medication interferes with your blood sugar and leaves you feeling constantly hungry, craving carbs especially.  So I had a few days where I was just unable to stick to my usual diet as I felt so unwell.  As I lost two pounds the week before, I am feeling ok about this, as my weekly average loss has been one pound.

Thankfully my headaches seem to be under control again, so I am able to continue with my usual diet this week.

I have got used to the new formula Slimsticks now.

Week 12

I have lost two pounds this week, so in total I have now lost a stone and a half, which is amazing!

It has taken a while to get used to the new Slimsticks. I think the instruction to mix them with tepid water isn’t correct, as lukewarm water causes the mixture to be very lumpy, I think it really needs to be warm water.

Week 11

I’ve lost another pound this week, so that’s 19 pounds and I now weigh 12st 10. I’m almost at 1 1/2 stones, which is amazing. This week so many people have mentioned my weight loss and said how great I look, which has done wonders for my confidence and self esteem. I’ve even been happy to tell people my start weight and current weight, which I would never have done before.

This week was ok, I had a big night out on Weds as a friend was leaving work. The food was fine as it was pan Asian, so small dishes of meat or fish, which were healthy. I did have a few glasses of wine and bubbly, which meant I was a little hung over and starving the next day. I ate more than normal for a Thursday, but tried to keep everything as healthy as possible. I don’t have many nights out during the week, so once in a while is fine.

Week 10

I have had a great week this week and have lost 1 1/2 pounds, so that is now 17 1/2 pounds in total and I now weigh 12st 11.6.  It is a relief to be leaving the 13 stone bracket behind!  I have felt very motivated over the last week and I am really pleased my efforts have paid off.  I have been ill over the last week too, with a virus.

Although I was still working, I didn’t have the energy to exercise, so that makes the result even more amazing!  A lot of clothes, in particular trousers, are now too big, which is a great feeling – although this could end up being very expensive!

Week 9

I had a great week last week – I am now 12st 13lb and have lost 16 pounds in total.  I am well and truly back on my diet and I am so pleased with the success to date.  Having broken the 12 stone barrier feels like a massive achievement, even more so than having lost over a stone to date.

I am now at a weight which I haven’t been for a very long time and this feels like very exciting.  I feel like I have managed to regain control over my diet and exercise again, which is a relief.

Week 8

I am pleased to have lost half a pound this week as it has been a very difficult week for a couple of reasons.  My boss, who I have worked with for over four years, left our company.  To mark this we had a couple of lunches out, which meant I was eating more than I would normally.  It was also my wedding anniversary, so I went out for dinner with my husband.  So again, I had less control over what I was eating.

So many meals out really impacted on my potential to lose weight.  But I did manage to try and make the most sensible food choices.  This week is back to normal, so I have more control over what I am eating, which I am much happier about.  I will also have more time to exercise this week, which will be good also.

Week 7

I haven’t lost weight this week – I think this is a combination of my holiday catching up with me and a very stressful week at work. Going back to work after two weeks off, I felt really hungry all the time and there was a lot of food around in the office which I did find hard to resist.

We had a new marketing director start last week and I was involved in some important meetings, which was stressful. We also had a work night out mid week, which took time to recover from. Because of that I didn’t get any opportunity to exercise during the week, which didn’t help.

I’m mentally feeling stronger this week and ready to recommit to the diet and weightloss.

I think that psychologically I was waiting for the new Slimsticks and seeing them as a new start to my diet and the task of losing my next stone. I am hoping they arrive soon!

Week 6

I am very pleased to confirm that I have not gained any weight whilst on holiday!  I am really pleased about this as I gain a few pounds in just one week in Cornwall, so this feels like a great achievement.  I have been exercising for an hour on average everyday we have been at home, so I think this has been the key.

I have tried to be careful with my food choices, but I have been drinking alcohol everyday, so it’s good this hasn’t undone all my hard work.  I am now so close to entering 12 stone and this is a weight I haven’t seen for a very long time, so I am very  excited about this prospect.

Week 5

Another week, another pound lost! So now that 1 stone and 1 pound. I’m very happy that the weight loss is continuing after so long.

We are on holiday for the next two weeks. We aren’t going abroad, but we are staying at home and having a few nights away. The upside of this is that I can keep closer control over what I eat and also my exercise. Whilst we are off, I am planning to increase my exercise by starting Just Dance on the Wi again. Whilst I have the time I’ll be doing an hour a day, which burns 360 calories in total.

I’m not expecting a great loss this week, as I will relax a little, but I am hoping not to gain.

I am really looking forward to receiving the new Slimsticks, I am hoping they give me the start I need to lose another stone!

Week 4

Great news, I have now lost a full stone! I am so pleased and feel so proud of myself. People are now starting to notice the difference and my clothes are fitting so much better. I’ve had to get a smaller size of jeans, which is something which hasn’t happened for a very long time. It feels great.I have relaxed my diet a little over the weekend, not massively, but I have stopped counting calories. We went out for my mums birthday today, so it was good to enjoy myself and not worry too much about calories.

I am really looking forward to starting on the new Slimsticks, I feel I need a new motivation to help me on the next phase of my journey. But I am very excited!

Week 3

We got back from holiday yesterday.  I weighed myself this morning and I gained 2.6 pounds whilst on holiday, which I am really happy with, so my current weight loss is 9.4 pounds.  This is the least amount of weight I have ever gained whilst on holiday.

I still tried as hard as possible with my food choices, being in the UK did make things a little easier than being abroad, as the food was closer to that I would have at home.  I managed to keep to my Slimsticks as much as possible, over the last few days of the holiday it wasn’t possible to take my lunchtime Slimsticks, as we were out and about.
After holiday, I think some weight gain was inevitable, as before the holiday I was only eating 1450 calories a day on average and drinking no alcohol during the week.  On holiday, I was eating more food and drinking alcohol everyday.

On previous diets in the run up to a holiday, I have always fallen back into old eating habits when I returned, but I still feel very motivated to continue with my diet and I am looking forward to the next stage.  I am only a few pounds away from a stone and a few pounds away from a weight I haven’t been in a very long time!

Week 2

This week I have lost another pound, which is now 10 pounds in total, in 7 weeks. I’m so pleased, especially as we had the long jubilee weekend. I was determined not to undo my hard work, so managed to keep on track most days over the weekend.

We had a family BBQ on Monday, at my parents. There was a LOT of food around, especially the wrong kind of food! I planned what I was going to have in advance, to stay within my calorie allowance. I did really well, I had a little more than planned, but made sure I made up for it over the following days. It didn’t bother me that I couldn’t eat what I usually would, I really didn’t fancy a lot of the food and was satisfied with what I had – a new sensation for me!

It is strange not feeling hungry, sometimes I need to remind myself that I can eat less, that I will be ok – I guess old habits can be hard to break!

I’ve been enjoying the new flavours, especially the double malt. I didn’t really know what to expect, but I love it! As I’m allergic to caffeine, and can’t drink too much, it makes a really nice drink when mixed with hot water.

Week 1

I’ve had a good week, I was so pleased to have lost almost 2 pounds this week!  I have tried really hard, so I am very pleased that my efforts have paid off.  We had a Jubilee party in our office on Thursday.  There was lots of party food around – the type of food where you think “it won’t hurt to have just one”, and before you know it, you’ve eaten 5 sausage rolls!  But I was determined not to ruin my progress and I stayed away and didn’t have any of the party food at all.

I had a strawberry Slimstick this morning.  It smelt lovely, I was very surprised when the water turned pink, even though the powder was white!  It was a very subtle strawberry taste, almost unnoticeable.  It did mask the usual Slimsticks taste, so people who struggle with the taste may prefer it?  I’m looking forward to trying the other flavours.  I usually mix my Slimsticks with hot water, to make a warm drink, as I am allergic to caffeine and can’t have too much, or else I get really bad headaches.  Using hot or warm water is the best way to make all the powder dissolve.
